About us

Since 2014, the research project History of Parliaments in Latin America has brought together an international group of scholars and organised a number of activities and publications on twentieth and nineteenth century Latin American parliaments.

Our aim is to continue fostering research in this blossoming subject area, drawing attention to the inner workings of national congresses, their relation to society and the state, as well as their social and political compositions. Researchers involved in this network come from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, including economics, history, literary studies, political science, and sociology.

On this website, you will find information about our publications, past and future events from ourselves and colleagues further afield, as well as online resources for researchers, educators, and students.
