My current research seeks to provide a detailed overview of political citizenship in Brazil between the 1870's and 1930's, through the analysis of debates on the right to vote and also by surveying the social composition of the Brazilian electorate. Besides that, part of my research interests are on the ways in which electoral participation was assimilated and experienced by the popular classes in the context of the Brazilian post-abolition - a scenario marked by low participation rates.
Among my recent publications are "À Margem dos Grandes Esquemas: o Associativismo Político-Eleitoral dos Trabalhadores de Pernambuco e da Bahia na Primeira República" in Estudo Históricos (2022), and "A dissimulada arte de produzir exclusões: as reformas que encolheram o eleitorado brasileiro (1881-1930)" in Revista de História (2020).
