Jorge Luengo Sánchez is Associate Professor of History at the Pompeu Fabra University, where he is currently director of the Masters in World History. After obtaining a PhD in History and Civilization at the European University Institute (Florence), he held post-doctoral positions at the Leibniz-Institute of European History in Mainz (Germany). Jorge has also been a Visiting Researcher at the Berlin School for Comparative European History at the Free University of Berlin, the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and University of Los Andes in Bogotá. His main research interests are the comparative, transnational, and global dimensions of modern Spain and Latin America. He has published Una sociedad conyugal: las élites de Valladolid en el espejo de Magdeburgo en el siglo XIX (Valencia, 2014) as well as several articles at journals, such as Parliaments, Estates & Representations, Diasporas, and the Journal of Global History.
